2008

The Capital District Child Care Coordinating Council will be recognizing child care providers at their annual recognition dinner on Thursday, May 11th at the Holiday Inn Turf in Colonie. Certificates of recognition and free raffle prizes will be distributed to participants.


2004

Child & Family Resources, Inc. of Geneva, New York, will be holding its 3rd annual Provider Appreciation Celebration. Providers are invited to attend a special recognition and celebration dinner at the Geneva Lakefront Ramada Inn on May 13th,2004. Contact Julie at 315-781-1491 ext 209 for further information.


Harris, Rothenberg International, LLC - a consulting firm specializing in human capital development and performance management - composed a flyer to encourage clients to recognize their child care providers on May 7, 2004. They will be including it along with child care referrals and other educational materials.


2002

Governor George Pataki has signed a Proclamation declaring May 10, 2002 Provider Appreciation Day in New York.


Child and Family Resources, Inc of Geneva held a celebration event at the Ramada Inn.


In Tompkins County, NY our CCRR has, for many years, acknowledged the work of child care providers by creating individual certificates for each provider in home settings and each classroom for providers in centers. There are prominently displayed and a source of pride for the providers. In 2002 we designed and purchased a large permanent banner which, in collaboration with the city of Ithaca, was hung on the overpass of a very busy main street – proclaiming ´Early Years are Learning Years. Thank those who teach and care for our children.´ This year the sign is hanging from our building in another visible community spot.


Child and Family Resources, Inc, serving Ontario and Yates Counties, is holding a Provider Appreciation Day celebration on May 8th, 2002. Local providers are invited to join fellow professionals in a relaxing get-together for special recognition, fun, door prizes, giveaways and more. Last year we held our Third Annual Recognition Dinner at Denny's Mountain View in Preble The Cortland Area Family Child Care Association was and still is instrumental in starting and continuing to put this together every year. There is assistance by the Cortland Area Child Care Council, it´s board of Directors and the area Child Care Center Directors and related staff. Many generous people are donating door prizes their time, talent, supplies and money. We have corporate sponsorships and are working with the Cortland Standard, our local paper on a 3 part series. We also have a local radio station working with us and doing a community service announcement regarding the Cortland Area Child Care Council.


The Child Care Coalition of the Niagara Frontier, a child care resource and referral agency for the Greater Buffalo and Erie County areas is coordinating their local celebration of the Day. For information email Janet Vaughan at jvaughan@wnychildren.org


Bronx Community College Child Development Center, Inc. held a Provider Appreciation Day Luncheon for the members of their Family Child Care Network at Roscoe Brown Student Center. Guest Speaker was Ms. Evalina Irish-Spencer from the Cornell Cooperative Extension Program. Providers received a Certificate of Appreciation, a token of appreciation and a copy of Lois Ehlert children's book, Feathers for Lunch, for their child care program (a book from the New York State Association for Young Children-Welcome Back to School Project).
